Policy News

  • The National Skill Development Corporation has collaborated with Microsoft to train underserved women in India. The aim is to to enhance women’s workforce participation in India’s digital economy.
  • Kerala became the first state in the country to fix the minimum support price (MSP) for vegetables. The scheme comes into effect from November 1.
  • Science and Technology Ministry launched the SERB-POWER schemes, which will encourage women researchers to undertake research and development in the areas of science and engineering.

Education

  • Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced Facial Recognition System for accessing digital academic documents.
  • A panel constituted by the NITI Aayog will review the current urban planning education system in India and introduce necessary reforms.
  • The Supreme Court will examine whether an educational institution can be sued under the consumer protection law for deficiency in services.
