Sidharth Santhosh is a Senior Research Associate at the Accountability Initiative (AI) where they are researching social accountability and responsive and collaborative governance practices. This includes research on how bureaucrats learn welfare governance, navigate convergence in policies, and manage citizen-state coalitions in India. They support the capacity-building of early-stage NGOs, university students, and bureaucrats.
Prior to joining AI, Sidharth consulted at IIEP-UNESCO where they drafted a study that analysed the role played by the middle-tier in education reforms across five emerging economies. They hold a Masters in Public Policy and Economics from Sciences Po, Paris, and a Bachelors in Economics from Christ University, Bangalore.

Prior to this, she interned with the Kerala Public Expenditure Review Committee under the Government of Kerala, where she worked on non-tax revenue mobilisation in the State.
She holds a Masters and an MPhil degree in Applied Economics from the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, under the Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is currently pursuing PhD in urban residential segregation in Kerala.
Avani is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Policy Research (CPR) and leads the Accountability Initiative (AI) – a research group working towards more Responsive Governance, a public system that is accountable to citizens in spirit and practice. Her own interest has been in building evidence for policy advocacy to strengthen public financial management for service delivery.
As part of her work, she is leading research studies on fiscal federalism, health, nutrition, sanitation, and education financing. She has also been anchoring the publication of the annual budget brief series and implementation of fund tracking surveys on key social sector schemes. Avani is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), in the United Kingdom and Smith College Massachusetts, USA.
Ritwik works as a Senior Research Associate at the Accountability Initiative.
Ritwik primarily works on issues related to governance processes, implementation, and capacity within the social sector. In particular, his focus has been on nutrition, health, and education. He aims to use his training as an economist to find impactful solutions to problems in the social sector, critical in shaping millions of lives in India. His research interests include public economics, public policy, development, and political economy.
Ritwik holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University and an M.A. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
